Our Mission

Solar Richmond’s mission is to catalyze transformative change that deepens the connection between people, place, and planet. As a social enterprise, we accomplish this mission by providing solar training, transitional employment, and staffing; holistic leadership development; and solar consulting. We work to foster healthier, safer and more sustainable communities, breaking down barriers of race and class as we participate in the green economy.

Our goal in finding appropriate solar arrays for homeowners, nonprofits and businesses is grounded in the belief that promoting solar can help the community as well as the environment. By working with Solar Richmond, you not only contribute to climate change solutions but also support job creation for Solar Richmond’s well-trained graduates. Local growth in the solar industry creates local, family-supporting solar installation jobs that can’t be automated or outsourced.
